Soojin J. Kim is a multidisciplinary artist. Her interest in American sweets as a subject started from the memory of her father and her father’s Korean War experience. She came to Boston in 2000 to study Electrical Engineering. After receiving her master's degree she changed her focus and began studying at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. She won the Boit Award for her independent studio practice, the Dana Pond Award in painting, and a highly-competitive Traveling Scholars Award from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. She is also a recipient of the Tufts University Montague Travel Grant and Graduate Research Awards.
