Michael Thompson is a Chicago-based artist who works in a variety of mediums including sculpture, painting, print-making and postage-stamps. The stamps have caused him a lot of trouble through the years, including his deportation from China and his subsequent ban from ever returning, to his lengthly battle with the USPS for access to his voluminous file through a Freedom of Information request.
